Welcome to the District 5 Tournament Hub. This is where you will find everything you need to know about the District 5 - Little League International Baseball and Softball Tournaments. Tournament brackets will be updated by midnight each night at the conclusion of play (provided the site director of each tournament has called in the game information as required).
Special Tournament Announcements having to do with weather delays, field changes or any type of announcement that would affect the tournament will also be posted in this Hub and on the main page of all our social media accounts.
We are excited to have Little League back in play in our community and look forward to many more years. Play Ball!!
Final District Champion
Congratulations to our final District Champion - the 8-10 Baseball Champions - Roadrunner Little League. It was an incredible tournament and a great way to wrap up district play! Good luck to all our teams moving on to state to represent our district. As we get updates we will post scores below in the brackets when and if they are provided to us by the hosts.
8-10 Update
Mother Nature had other plans last night and gave us a light show instead of letting us play ball so last nights scheduled games at Lobo Little League were postponed. Since we could not wait out the weather delay because their fields do not have lights - the Altamont vs East Mountain game will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 10th - which will move the rest of the tournament back 1 day.
Senior Baseball District 5 Champion
Congratulations to Roadrunner Little League who came back in an exciting final against Zia Little League to become the District 5 Senior Baseball Champions. Roadrunner will represent District 5 in the State Tournament beginning July 16th.

Little League Baseball District 5 Champion
Congratulations to Roadrunner Little League who captured the Little League Division Championship last night and are headed to State! What a great tournament by all teams and players - it was so good to see all the players and fans enjoying baseball again. After the 4th of July weekend break we are back in action with our 8-10 Baseball District Tournament hosted at Lobo Little League.
Major Tournament Continues....
The rain held off long enough to get our games in tonight and they were some well played games!! Sadly, the tournament has come to an end for 2 of our teams, Thunderbird and Lobo were eliminated but put up a tough fight.
Metro Champion Crowned
Saturday night brought a conclusion to the Metro Championship with Eastdale defeating Roadrunner in a hard fought tournament. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this tournament and our champions Eastdale Little League.
District 5 Crowns First Champions
Congratulations goes out to the Zia Little League Major Softball Girls for capturing our first District Tournament Championship Friday night at Roadrunner Little League. Zia will represent District 5 at the State Tournament next month. Congratulations ladies, great job and we can't wait to follow your journey to Take State!!
District Little League (Majors) Tournament to Begin Friday June 25th
Friday will be a busy evening at Roadrunner with the start of Major Baseball division games. The brackets for this tournament are posted below - Game 1 had to be moved to 7:45 to accommodate the championship game of the Metro Tournament so Roadrunner vs Lobo will now begin immediately following that game on the major field. Metro Championship Day! - Friday June 25th
Tonight we could be crowning the 2021 8-10 Metro Champion. It's been a hard fought tournament this past week with some great teams giving it their all and we've come down to the top 2 teams - Roadrunner will be taking on Eastdale at 5:30 pm on the Major Field at Roadrunner Little League. Come out and catch some great baseball, grab a hot dog and soda from the concession stand and cheer on your favorite player!!
District All Star Tournaments Begin
District 5 began tournament play on Thursday night with the Little League Softballs in action on the softball fields at Roadrunner. Zia LIttle League vs. Atrisco Valley which is always a great battle. Zia took the first game of this series with the potential to take home the title on Friday night. Come out and support these Girls of Summer as they try to earn a spot to move on to State Tournament play next month in Santa Fe. Friday's game vs Zia and Atrisco begins at 5:30 at the Roadrunner Softball Field. See you there!!
Metro Tournament Update - Wednesday, June 23rd
We are down to our final few games of the Metro Tournament and the battles have been fierce!! We have seen some amazing ball playing from these 8-10 year old future super stars and we have been enjoying the great weather and terrific atmosphere of being at the ballparks.
As we gear up for our District All Star Tournaments that begin Thursday with Softball on the upper field and the Majors on Friday sharing fields during the Championship Game for Metro, the fields will become busier so please keep a watchful eye on the littles that are running around, more people mean more cars and more teams coming in to use the facility. Please be mindful of where your little fans are at all times, we don't like it when parents get lost!!
Metro Tournament Update - Tuesday, June 22nd
Game 11, originally scheduled for tonight at 5:30 on the Major Field has been corrected to reflect the actual time of 7:45 pm on the Major Field. There was a typo on the original bracket that was used in error - we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause - all other games will continue as scheduled at this time.
Metro Tournament Update: - Sunday, June 20th
Due to the length of games we experienced over the weekend, we will be instituting a modified time limit effective immediately. A new inning shall not begin after 2 hours and 15 minutes of play. All games will be final at the end of the inning they are presently playing if the time limit rule has to be enforced.
We also encourage managers and coaches to brush up on the Little League International Tournament Rules including substitution and minimum play requirements - some of these questions have caused further delay in games over the weekend, causing some exhausted parents and players.
The Metro Tournament was established as a gateway for future all star players and coaches to get a taste of what the all star experience will be like. The grind is worth it, but it is long hot days and nights at the fields, sometimes waiting for games to end, sometimes weather delays or sometimes just watching the teams you love most play. A tough day at the ball field is better than any day at home so let's remember it's for the kids and let's keep rooting on our favorite leagues and players!!
